Import & Export Database via DirectAdmin

Through DirectAdmin we have the ability to export our database, as well as import a .sql file into the database. Below are the detailed steps for importing and exporting a database.

1. We log into DirectAdmin by typing our domain domainname.tld:2222 and login by entering our username and password.
   
2. We go to Account Manager > Databases and click “Manage” on the database we want to use.
3. Export or Import database:
   • To export the database, click the “Export as SQL” button. A .sql file will automatically be downloaded locally to our computer.
     
   • To import data into the database from a .sql file located locally on our computer, click the “Import” button and select the desired .sql file. We can, if we wish, select the “Clean Database” checkbox to delete the data that the database previously had, and click the “YES” button to start the database import.
     
     Next, a progress bar will appear on the screen informing us about the progress of the database import.
     Finally, the following message of successful database import will appear on the screen.
