How to connect your email account to Apple Mail
Apple Mail is one of the most popular email management applications for macOS users. The guide below describes step by step how to connect an email account to Apple Mail.
Note: The images below are for illustration purposes only. The account demo@trustservers.gr is used solely as an example. Replace it with your own email.
Adding a new account
To add a new account, open the Apple Mail application, click the “Mail” option at the top left, and then click the “Add Account…” button.
In the window that appears, type the email account you want to connect and then click the “Continue” button.
Selecting a provider
Select “Other Mail Account”, since you are connecting a third-party provider account rather than a Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft account.
Adding account connection parameters
In the next window, enter the password for your email account and click “Sign In”.
Next, fill in the following details:
- Connection protocol: IMAP or POP (we recommend IMAP)
- Mail Server for incoming and outgoing mail (e.g. mail.your-domain.gr)
- Name: the full name that will be displayed for this email

Then click “Sign In” to confirm the connection.
Adding secondary applications
Before finishing, the system will ask whether you want to connect other applications to your account as well. Select whichever applications you want and click the “Done” button to complete the process.
Successful account connection
The setup is now complete. Your email account is now active and ready to use in Apple Mail.
