How to change password in a MySQL database?

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin through your browser by typing your domain domainname.tld:2222 and log in with your credentials.
  2. Go to Databases from the Account Manager menu and find the database for which you want to change the password.
    Click the Manage button.
  3. The password we want to change refers to the user who has full access to the selected database. Therefore, we change the user’s password.
Find the desired user for the selected database and click the Manage button.
  4. Type the new password or click the button to generate a random password and click CHANGE PASSWORD to finalize.
Make sure you have saved the new password from the window that will appear.

After changing the password, it is important to update the relevant settings of any application that uses the database so that it works correctly (e.g., in the case of WordPress, update the wp-config.php file).

It is important to use only strong passwords everywhere, which do not use dictionary words, are many characters long, and include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
