How do I permanently delete emails from Roundcube?

The following instructions concern the permanent deletion of emails using Roundcube (i.e., via webmail).

Roundcube, when we delete an email, marks it for deletion and does not actually delete it at that moment. Specifically, when we delete an email, it moves from the folder where it is located and goes to the Trash folder. Emails that are in Trash continue to occupy the same disk space.

Emails in Trash are automatically deleted by the system after months, but you may want to permanently delete Trash on your own initiative.

To permanently delete these emails from Trash, the following steps are sufficient:

  1. Log into Roundcube using your email/password credentials.
  2. Select the Trash folder from the left side of the window. Then click “Select” and from the drop-down menu choose “All” to select all emails in the Trash folder. Finally, click the “Delete” button located at the top right.

This way we empty the Trash folder, so the occupied space will be freed.
